Log Parser User's Guide

Ok, this is a real quick, high-level description of what this utility is used for. I'm just going to give a brief description of what each menu selection actually does.

Player List->Import Player List File/Player List->Save Imported Player List
Got a player list file from a previous version of AliasBuster? Want to stick two player lists together to create one master list? Then use this menu selection. You can import as many files as you want, then use the Player List->Save Imported Player List to save the file.

Player List->Parse Log Files
Select the directory that the files are in that you want to parse into a single player/cheater list. Then select this menu choice. You may also import a file first before parsing the new log files. This is much faster than parsing a lot of old log files all the time. This selection can handle CSHP files, PackageChecker Files, and BHD files.

PackageChecker->Get Players with Unknown Packages
Want to know all the mods that the people on your server have installed? Then use this menu selection to create a list of unknown packages and all the players (and their ip's) that use them.

PackageChecker->Get Corrupt Packages
Want to know all the players that were caught with packages that were corrupted (byte hacked?) or recompiled? Then use this menu selection to create a list of the corrupted packages and all the players (and their ip's) that use them.

PackageChecker->Get Known Cheat Packages
Want to know all the players that were caught with known cheat packages? Then use this menu selection to create a list of the packages and all the players (and their ip's) that use them.

PackageChecker->Get All Keybind Info
Want to know all the Keybinds that all the players on your server have set up? Then use this menu selection to create a list of the Players and their keybinds.

PackageChecker->Get Cheat Keybind Info
Want to know all the people caught with known cheat Keybinds? Then use this menu selection to create a list of the Players and their cheat keybinds.

PackageChecker->Console Timeouts
This is pretty much for debugging. I put this here so I could see if anyone consistently timed out while waiting for PackageChecker to initialize.

PackageChecker->All Cheats
Creates a list of players caught with known cheat objects, classes, keybinds, packages, or menu mods.

Misc->Clear All Data
This cleans out all imported data or parsed log files from memory. Do this if you are not sure what is loaded into the PackageChecker Parser environment.

Misc->Get Open Connections
Want to know if your server is being used for DoS attacks? All you need to do is setup your server.ini so that the line Suppress=NetComeGo is commented out or deleted from the [Core.System] section. Then leave the server alone for a while. Say a day. Then open the server.log file with this menu selection. It will produce a file that shows how many times each IP Address that connected to your server opened a connection during the day that you had the Suppress=NetComeGo line deleted from your ini. If you see an IP address that has many more connections than can be humanly expected (say more than 50), then that IP is being attacked using your server. This means that you server performance will be degraded due to this problem. What can you do? Not much, unfortunately. Sorry. But at least you now know....
