MircTLL 2.0.0.5 Readme
======================

Installation :

You must have at least mIRC 5.71 for this script to work. It does not
work on 5.70.

1 - Extract the zip file contents to a new directory, preferably under the
    mIRC directory ;

2 - In mIRC, go to the Remote Editor ( Menu Tools|Remote or Alt+R) and load
    the UTMIRC20.MRC script from wherever you put it ; Answer yes to the
    initialization query ;

3 - Fill in the values (all values are defaulted except for UT's system
    path )

That's it... unless you managed to screw up along the way (or there's some
strange bug I didn't figure out)

From now on anyone who says !wut on a channel or private message will make
you say if and where you are playing UT.

And keep in mind... this is really very much beta.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------
I built this little system so that my friends on IRC could know if I was
playing Unreal Tournament, and where, without my intervention. I started
messing around with the UT inifiles hoping to find some info regarding game
connections, but they where nowhere to be found. So I went to the next step.
I joined a server and performed a full text search on all files under UT
System directory, and voila - UnrealTournament.log had the server's IP. I
studied the log file and came up with a quick and dirty way of telling if
UT was connected to a server and even obtaining the current map and
player's name. There's one minor catch, though. Seems that UT only commits
changes to the logfile every 4096 bytes, so it's possible that the UT
state changes without being reflected on the log, thus preventing the
script from accuratelly telling what's happening, but I think it might be
rare (time will tell). If anybody comes up with a better way of obtaininig
this kind of info from the local UT system, let me know and I'll update this
app.

Configuration Items :

UT System Dir : It's the path to the UT's System Dir... must be correctly
                  filled or you'll never be reported as playing :)
Public Enabled : Enables the triggered response on Channels
Private Enabled : Enables the triggered response on Private Messages
Notice Enabled : Enables the response using Notice commands
Timer Delay : Serves as flood control. After a triggered response, the
                  system will wait this long before it answers again
Public Output : Configures if your triggered response on a channel goes
                  to the channel as a public message or as a notice
Notice Output : Configures if notice responses go to the status or the
                  active window
Query Output : Configures if server query results go to the status, the
                  active window or a new dedicated window

Future :

We'll see.

Comments

I'd like to hear from the UT Mirc users. If you could drop a line just to let
me know who's been using it. You can also report any bugs found :)
